Ciyuan

The Ciyuan (Chinese辞 源/辞 源, W.-G. Tz'u -yuan, source of the words ') is a Erkui of Lu (陆 尔奎) and Others given out Chinese dictionary whose strengths on the detection of classical Chinese literary language lie.

It first appeared in 1915 in the Commercial Press (商务印书馆/商务印书馆) in Shanghai, a revised edition was published in 1939.

The currently relevant issue is vierbändig and appeared since 1979. It was reprinted several times, eg 1990 in Beijing. A character index is in Pinyin spelling.

A Ciyuan Tongkao (辞 源 通考) titled supplementary volume, which was published in 2002 in Fujian renmin chubanshe publishing in Fuzhou Tian Zhongxia (田忠侠) (ISBN 7211039175 ), provides corrections and additions.

Before the publication of the works Hanyu da cidian ( " Great Chinese Dictionary " ) and Hanyu da zidian ( " Great Chinese character dictionary" ) was one of the most important tools of Western Sinology.
