CL Smooth

Corey Brent Penn ( born October 8, 1968 in New Rochelle, New York; artist name CL Smooth) is an American rapper who is best known for his collaboration with producer Pete Rock as Pete Rock & CL Smooth.

After the duo parted in 1995, Penn initially withdrew from the music business. In 1998 he was represented at the solo album of his former partner Pete Rock Soul Sourvivers. In 2006, twelve years after the last album as Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Smooth released his first solo album, American Me

His other stage names or pseudonyms were: Caramel King, The Mecca Don CL and El Presidente.
