Claire Mathis Anderson ( born May 8, 1891 in Detroit, Michigan, USA, † March 23 1964 in Venice, California, United States) was an American actors who already retired from the film business in the 1920s.

Life

Their discoverer was Mack Sennett, who made ​​it one of the so-called " Sennett Bathing Beauties ". It was thus one of a number of young, attractive women who appeared scantily clad in Sennett films in swimsuit and therefore made ​​for excitement in prudish America. In addition to Anderson and Mabel Normand, Juanita Hansen, Gloria Swanson and Phyllis Haver began her career as a Sennett Bathing Beauty.

Anderson has appeared in numerous films of the Triangle Film Corporation and turned to 1926, more than 70 silent films, among other things on the side of Constance Talmadge, Harry Carey and Thurston Hall. In 1926 she retired from the film business, but occasionally performed as a theater actress in appearance. She died in 1964 in Venice.

Claire Anderson was married to Harry H. Anderson ( † 1926). The marriage ended in divorce.
