Clairefontaine Abbey

The Abbey Claire Fontaine was a Cistercian monastery, whose historical remains are found near Clairefontaine, which belongs to the Belgian town of Arlon in the province of Luxembourg.

The monastery was founded around the year 1214 planned by the Countess Ermesinde of Luxembourg and built the blond after her death by her son, Henry V.

From medieval monastery are still the ruins to see it burned down during the French Revolution. Jesuits from Arlon built a chapel dedicated to where the sarcophagus is kept Ermesindes.

The location can also hike from the Luxembourg border neighboring towns Eischen or stone fort on foot.
