Two of the women of the Drummonds, who were known for their beauty, were married to kings of Scotland, Margaret Drummond with David II and Annabella Drummond Robert III. Politically, the members of the clan were loyal to Mary Stuart and the exiled James II, for which they were rewarded with a dukedom ( duke ), and fought in the Jacobite rebellions of 1715 and 1745 Jacobite side.
