Clan MacKay

MacKay, also known as Clan Morgan, is the name of a Scottish clan, who comes from the northern Scottish Region Strathnaver, Sutherland. Their territory consisted essentially the communities ( parish ) of Durness, Tongue and Farr.

History

The clan had to constantly fight with powerful neighbors, including the MacDonalds and the Earl of Sutherland ( Earl of Sutherland ), and had Strathnaver 1642 sell due to the persistent pressure. 1829 took over the Sutherland family, the remaining lands of the MacKay.
