Clancy Eccles

Clancy Eccles ( born December 9, 1940, Dean Pen, St. Mary, Jamaica, † 30 June 2005 in Spanish Town in Kingston, Jamaica ) was a Jamaican reggae and Skamusiker and producer.

Life

1959 Clancy Eccles moved to Kingston. There he got a record deal at a talent show by Coxsone Dodd. 1961 his first single Freedom was released, he became known in the same year with River Jordan.

As Eccles earned with his music little, he interrupted his musical career and moved in 1965 Annotto Bay to work as a tailor. In 1967 he returned to the music business and producing his own singles Darling Do not Do That and Guns Town.

The 1968 recorded with Eric Morris song Say What You're Saying and Fatty Fatty were in addition to the previously recorded Freedom and River Jordan to his biggest successes.

1971 Eccles supported with some reggae musicians PNP politicians Michael Manley in the election for Prime Minister. Based on this success Eccles stepped up in 1980 to again and again, to support the People's National Party.

Eccles was a producer for Jamaican musicians such as Joe Higgs, Busty Brown and Larry Marshall.

Eccles died on 30 June 2005 to the effects of a stroke.
