Clara was the ZDF series Christmas 1993.

Content

Clara is a young, gifted student and rider. Clara is characterized in that it faces the usual equitation methods of dealing with the horses critically. This she gets particularly in conflict with her riding instructor Henry, himself formerly successful and believes that only a certain rigor leads to the goal.

Also, in the series typical adolescent conflicts are discussed with their parents. Clara despises the lifestyle of their mother, who largely at the expense of Clara's father ( her former affair ) Charly lives during this as a business man and because his family has little time for his daughter. As the situation escalates, Clara temporarily moved to the riding of Meischberger family.

The riding of Meischbergers faces considerable, economic problems. It threatens the garnishment. Jens Meischberger initially tries to drown his sorrows in alcohol, but finally puts an end.

Matthias Meischberger, the son of the owner couple who also rides, like Clara, however, is success-oriented than this. His ambition eventually leads to a riding accident in which the horse Aimée was strongly affected. Clara jumps to continue to get the horse for riding and the family Meischberger. Between Matthias and Clara finally offing a relationship that is overshadowed by the sporting ambitions of both again.

Book

The series is based on the 1993 published Clara and happiness of this earth by Justus peacocks, who also wrote the screenplay. Therefore, the series adheres largely to the original book. The original book was published in 1993 in Loewe Verlag and illustrated by Katinka Niederstrasser. The result novel Clara are not on the 1994 is no longer part of the series and was not filmed.

Soundtrack

The soundtrack was mainly composed by Sigi Schwab and was released in 1993 on CD. Meanwhile, however, the soundtrack is out of print.

Radiations

Since the first showing, the series was aired eight times, except in the ZDF and 3sat channel in children, most recently in 2010 at ZDFneo. In particular, the penultimate broadcast in 2007 aroused resentment because she was new cut for time from the ZDF and thus scenes were omitted.

The complete series was released on 7 July 2008 on DVD.
