Clarence Callender

Clarence Callender ( born November 16, 1961 in Newham ) is a former British sprinter.

At the Commonwealth Games in 1986 in Edinburgh Callender was starting for England, in 10.42 s sixth in the 100 -meter run. In the 4 x 100 - meter relay, the English team came in the cast Lincoln Asquith, Daley Thompson, Mike McFarlane and Callender in 39.19 s finish and won silver, 0.04 seconds behind the Canadian quartet. The following year, the British relay was disqualified at the World Athletics Championships in Rome in the flow. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul Callender entered only in the flow of the season. From the semi-finals Linford Christie ran on the final position. Since the relay went to second place in the final, also Callender for his heat use was an Olympic silver medal. 1990 at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland was Callender first leg of the English relay that won in 38.67 s in the cast Callender, John Regis, Marcus Adam and Linford Christie.

Clarence Callender is 1,79 m tall and weighed in his playing days 75 kg. After his career he became a coach and manages inter alia on the British long jumper Jade Johnson.
