Clark County (Indiana)

Clark County is a county located in the state of Indiana in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Jeffersonville.

Geography

The County is located in southern Indiana, bordered on the southwest by Kentucky and has an area of 974 square kilometers, of which three square miles are water. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Scott County, Jefferson County, Floyd County and Washington County.

History

Clark County was formed on February 3, 1801 from parts of Knox County. It was named after George Rogers Clark, a U.S. general.
