Clarke Quay

Clarke Quay (CQ ) is a fortified by walls seawall - also called Kai - the Singapore River in downtown Singapore. Today, CQ is known for its many bars, restaurants and clubs that are distributed around the harbor.

History

Clarke Quay was the second Governor of Singapore named after Sir Andrew Clarke, who played a key role in positioning Singapore as a port for the Malay states of Perak, Selangor and Sungei Ujong.

Today, Clarke Quay is one of five blocks of restored warehouses and existing with the port, which has many restaurants and nightclubs. The various blocks are assigned to different areas of culture, the offer of Indian and Chinese dances, through various cocktail and beer bars as well as national, and popular food.
