Claude Goretta

Claude Goretta ( born June 23, 1929 in Geneva, Switzerland ) is a Swiss film director and television producer.

Biography

Claude Goretta studied at the University of Geneva Law. In the early 1950s he co-founded with the late filmmaker Alain Tanner colleagues a film club. When the opportunity arose, he took courses at London's British Film Institute. Together with Tanner turned Goretta 1957 " Nice Time " a short film about the night life in London's Piccadilly Circus, which won an award and critical acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival.
