Claude Reignier Conder
Claude Reignier Conder ( born December 29, 1848 in Cheltenham, † February 16, 1910 ) was an English officer and Palestine researchers.
Life
The descendant of Louis -François Roubiliacs was employed as an engineer officer from 1875 to 1878 and from 1881 to 1882 on behalf of the Palestine Exploration Fund with survey work in Palestine, was also involved Herbert Kitchener. The data collected for the topography and the local flora and fauna have been published in the eight-volume work, The Survey of Western Palestine Including a Survey of Eastern Palestine.
He participated in the campaign on the occasion of the Mahdi uprising of 1882 in part, as in military operations in South Africa 1884-85.
