Claudia Leistner, married. Pfrengle ( born April 15, 1965 in Ludwigshafen, Germany) is a former German figure skater, which was launched in a single run. She was twice Vice World Champion and 1989 European Champion.

Life

Leistner has been from 1985 to 1989 German champion in figure skating ladies. She took in the period 1982-1989, with the exception of 1984, in all the European Championships and World Cups. In European Championships she never placed worse than fifth. 1983 in Dortmund and 1985 in Gothenburg she won in victories by Katarina Witt, the bronze medal. Leistner was European champion in 1989 in Birmingham, England. Also in World Championships, she was constant to find the front. My worst result there was the sixth place. 1983 in Helsinki, she was Vice World Champion behind the US-American Rosalynn Sumners and in Paris in 1989 World runner-up behind the Japanese Midori Ito. Leistner played two Winter Olympic Games. In Sarajevo in 1984 she won ninth place and in Calgary in 1988, she was sixth. She was one of the few ladies who dominated the triple loop jumps and triple flip at that time.

Leistner originally started as artistic roller skater, and later switched to figure skating. She trained in Mannheim and started for the Mannheimer ERC. Her coach was the first multiple GDR Champion Günter Zöller and later the Olympic champion and multiple world champion Ondrej Nepela. At the end of her career she has trained ten times the Polish pair of running champion and later as manager of Baden- Württemberg Peter Sczypa, with whom she got her long-awaited European Championship title and the victory at Skate America.

Claudia Leistner is with Stefan Pfrengle, former German champion in pair skating, married. The couple has a daughter, Julia Pfrengle (* 1995), which is also active figure skater at the Mannheimer ERC, and a son (* 2000). Together with Sczypa Leistner trained her daughter today.
