Claudia Ștef

Claudia Stef (born Iovan; born February 25, 1978 in Craiova, Romania) is a Romanian race walker.

In the 5000 -meter walk was Claudia Iovan 1996 third at the Junior World Championships. In 1997, she was at the same distance European Junior Champion. In the 10 - km walk she finished in 44:10 minutes 12th place at the European Championships in 1998 in Budapest. Won the 1999 Claudia Iovan over 10 km at the Universiade and was in the 20 km walk Eleventh at the World Championships in Seville.

On 30 January 1999 Claudia Iovan set a world indoor record in the 3000 -meter walking with 11:40,33 minutes in Bucharest. This performance was indeed undercut in 2003 by the Irish Gillian O'Sullivan 11:35,34 minutes, but their performance was not recognized as an official world record.

On 20 May 2000 Claudia Iovan was tested positive for doping and locked in a row for two years.

At the European Championships in Munich in 2002 was Claudia Iovan Fifth more than 20 kilometers in 1:29:57 hours. The same place they occupied as Claudia Stef at the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis. She put her personal best of 1:29:09 hours. Two years later at the World Championships in Helsinki, she was eighth in 1:30:07 hours. At the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg she won in 1:29,27 h in fifth place at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka in sixth place.

Claudia Stef is 1,60 m tall and weighs 48 kg.
