Claudie Blakley

Claudie Blakley ( born 1974 in England) is a British film and stage actress.

Life

Her father was the late Alan Blakley, 1996 to cancer, bassist with Brian Poole's Tremeloes, a successful pop band in the 1960s. Her sister Kirsten Blakley is the lead singer of the British indie band Little Spitfire.

Claudie Blakley learned acting at the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama in London. In 1998, she won the " Ian Charleson Award" for her performance in The Seagull at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Known to an international audience, it was her role as Mabel Nesbitt in the 2001 Oscar-winning costume drama Gosford Park by Robert Altman and 2005 on the side of Keira Knightley in the role of Charlotte Lucas in the Jane Austen novel adaptation of Pride and Prejudice directed by Joe Wright. In autumn 2007 she was seen in the BBC mini-series Cranford and Lark Rise to Candlefold.
