Claudio Coello

Claudio Coello ( born March 2, 1642 Madrid, † April 20, 1693 ) was a Spanish painter.

Coello was a pupil of Francisco Rizi. He earned a great reputation, but was obscured by Luca Giordano's arrival, which ushered in the period of decline of Spanish art and died on April 20, 1693 in Madrid of grief about it.

He left behind in Madrid, San Ildefonso, in the Escorial to Paular, Zaragoza, Salamanca, Corella, Torrejón de Henares, Valdemoro and other places of religious images, which are characterized by strong opinion. Claudio Coello was the last major Spanish painters of the classical period.
