Claudio Scremin

Claudio Francesco Scremin ( born May 28, 1968 in Burnaby, British Columbia ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. During his career he played for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, the Kansas City Blades of the International Hockey League and the Hannover Scorpions and Krefeld Penguins in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career

Scremin first played from 1986 to 1990 at the University of Maine. In a total of 109 games for the college team in the Hockey East the National Collegiate Athletic Association, he scored 84 points. During his time at college he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1988 in the tenth round at 204th position of the Washington Capitals. In November 1988, the Capitals to the Minnesota North gave the rights to his person then from Stars.

For the season 1990 /91 Italo - Canadians competed in his first professional season with the Kansas City Blades, a team from the International Hockey League ( IHL ). When they received a partnership with the newly formed NHL franchise to San Jose Sharks 1991/92 season, the defender signed a contract there. Scremin remained until the end of the 1997/98 season with the Kansas City Blades, but was used for the seasons 1991/92 and 1992/93 in the NHL and brought it to a total of 17 NHL games. He celebrated his biggest success in the 1991/92 season by winning the Turner Cup.

After the 1997/98 season Scremin moved to Europe, where he had already contested games for the HC Varese in the 1993/94 season. This time he played for the Hannover Scorpions and Krefeld Penguins in the DEL, and for the London Knights in the British Ice Hockey Super League, before he ended his career in 2001.
