Claudio Sulser

Sulser joined in 1973 by FC Mendrisio- Stabio to Vevey -Sports. On 1 January 1977 it undertook the Grasshopper Club Zurich, where he rushed for nine years and four-time national champion was. He then moved to FC Lugano to end his career in the Ticino home. As a center forward Sulser scored many nice goals, accomplished acrobatic feats, was a good penalty taker and especially feared champion in dribbling. In the match against England (1981 ), he scored a goal after he allowed four defenders run simultaneously into the void in confined spaces.

Sulser survived several enforced breaks, including four knee surgeries, and was in the 1978/79 season top scorer in the European Champions' Cup (now UEFA Champions League).

Sulser completed a total of 49 caps for the Swiss national football team, scoring 13 goals.

A financially lucrative engagement in Italy, he leaned on the top of his game - even with regard to his professional training - from. Claudio Sulser holds a law degree during his active years as a top footballer and completed his doctorate. He now works as a lawyer in Lugano. Since 2010 he is president of the Ethics Committee of FIFA.
