Claus Schiprowski

Claus Schiprowski (* December 27, 1942 in Gelsenkirchen- Buer ) is a German athlete, who in the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City won the silver medal in the pole vault (5.40 m: Olympic Record and European Record ). In one of the most exciting Olympic competitions he had skipped the same height as Olympic champion and bronze medalist Bob Seagren Wolfgang Nordwig. The European Athletics Championships 1966, he reached number eight (4.70 m).

Schiprowski launched 04 Leverkusen Bayer. In 1966 and 1969, he was West German Vice Champion in the pole vault both indoors and outdoors, a German championship title he did not win. In his playing days, he was 1.76 m tall and weighed 69 kg.
