Claus Theo Gärtner

Claus Theo Gärtner ( born April 19, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German actor.

Biography

The son of a merchant and a ballet mistress grew up in Oberhausen and collected at the local children's theater first acting experience. He lived in his youth in Austria, the USA and Southeast Asia. During his music and drama school in Braunschweig and Hanover and the first engagements at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen gardener was active in SDS Göttingen. After graduation, he worked first as a stagehand, innkeeper and rally drivers. He made his debut in 1966 in Göttingen under Heinz Hilpert, whereupon engagement in Göttingen, Hanover (where he met his colleague Günter Strack know ), Braunschweig, Oldenburg, and Peter Stein Schaubühne in Berlin followed.

Since the late sixties gardeners also appeared on television, and in the thriller Zoff he was next to Diether Krebs, Jürgen Prochnow and Hildegard Krekel his first film role, for in 1972 he was awarded the German Film Award for best young actor.

Television audiences is known mainly as a private detective Josef Matula from the crime series A Case for Two gardeners. Günter Strack insisted that the role of Matula should be occupied by a gardener. Since 1981 he has been involved in 300 episodes; for individual, he was responsible as a director. With the 282nd episode of the series overtook Gardener - measured in TV cases - Horst Tappert, of the Chief Inspector Stephan Derrick represented for 25 years.

On October 31, 2011 confirmed the ZDF that Claus Theo Gärtner the role of Josef Matula after the 300th episode will be handing A Case for Two. Meanwhile, the setting of the series was decided after the broadcast of this episode in the spring of 2013.

After his departure from the role of Josef Matula in the series " A Case for Two " wants Claus Theo Gärtner early least available by the end of the year on the stage or in front of the camera.

Private

2003 Gardener separated by approximately twelve years of marriage of his seven year younger, second wife Brigitte. Both have a common adopted son. Gardener is married to third wife, 35-year- younger Swiss assistant director Sarah Würgler since 2008; they were a couple since 2003 and married in Winterthur. In 2013 gardeners were after the end of filming the last season of the series on A case for two in his apartment near the Wiesbaden spa gardens, in which he had lived for many years. He lives now or in part, in Berlin, but his main residence moved to Basel.

Gardener is an avid motorsports and was works driver for Mercedes -Benz. Since 1967, he took part in car racing. He now runs regularly with at classic rides. The car stunts in A Case for Two, he completed itself

Since 2007, gardeners Ambassador of the Hessian children's charity is Children's Future (Rudolf Walther Foundation ).
