Claw beaker
The proboscis cup (English claw beaker ) is a mostly bulbous glass beaker or cup of the 6th and 7th centuries. Characteristic of this glass are pulled out of the side wall of the glass and drooping, trunk- like decoration. These so-called trunk are regular, often added to the entire glass and in two rows, arranged one above the other. Most trunk cups were made of Frankish glass blowers in the Lower Rhine and exported in large parts of Europe.
