Clayton Beddoes

Clayton Beddoes ( born November 10, 1970 in Bentley, Alberta ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player ( center ), former head coach of the Cologne Sharks, former assistant coach of the Frankfurt Lions and former head coach of the Lions Frankfurt, on 21 March 2012 to immediate effect of it isolated.

Career

In the team of Lake Superior State University played Clayton Beddoes first time in 1990 higher grade hockey. After four years of study Beddoes went to the AHL with the Providence Bruins, the farm team of the Boston Bruins. He was appointed sixty times in the NHL within two years through good performance. After a season in the IHL, he celebrated in 1998 for the Berlin Capitals his DEL debut. In a total of 127 games for three clubs (Berlin, Adler Mannheim, Düsseldorf EC) he collected 74 points scorer. His last professional match was held at the Cologne Arena on November 17, 2000. At that time, the DEG won 5-4 against the Sharks. Due to a shoulder injury he was then forced to end his active career DEL. This was followed by only 18 games in weaker leagues ( WCHL and Italy ).

Coaching career

In the Iserlohn Roosters in 2005, he joined his first assistant coach posts and so equal in the footsteps of celebrated in Iserlohn Teal Fowler. Mentor of the skilled carpenter at the Roosters was Doug Mason, whom he also accompanied to the Cologne Sharks by Masons exchange in April 2006. After Mason was released on 22 September 2008, the Beddoes the post of head coach, but was fired by the club management on 2 December 2008 in response to the ongoing crisis of the team. On 31 July 2009 it was announced that Beddoes would take over from Jamie Bartman as an assistant coach at the Frankfurt Lions. The employment contract as head coach of the now playing as a lion Frankfurt team was completed by the end of March 2012. For the 2012/13 season he was engaged as head coach of the Italian first division SG Cortina.
