Cle Elum Lake

The Cle Elum Lake is a natural lake that is dammed by the Cle Elum Dam on. The earth dam was built as part of the Yakima Project by the Bureau of Reclamation for irrigation from 1931 to 1933 and located 13 km north-west of the city of Cle Elum. The 50 m high dam has a volume of about 1 million cubic meters. The 19.4 km ² reservoir is 13 km long and has a storage volume of 538 million m³. The lake is a popular recreation area with camping, water sports and fishing.

The lake is drained by the Cle Elum River and has a catchment area of 524 km ².
