Cleaner (crime)

Cleaner is a borrowed from English, common in crime thrillers term for a crime scene cleaner. The Cleaner destroys or removes any incriminating evidence at the scene, where typically a contract killing has taken place. The cleaner usually works for a criminal organization (such as Mafia) or a secret government organization ( for example, the Centre ). Its tasks are the removal of the body ( eg by means of resolution through an acid bath ), the complete cleaning, deodorizing and disinfecting the crime scene and the destruction of trace evidence such as fingerprints. A cleaner works mostly alone, but sometimes in teams ( for example, in the series The Pretender ).
