The Clearwater River ( English for " clear water river ") is a right tributary of the North Saskatchewan River in the Canadian province of Alberta.

Its source is in the Devon Lakes in the Canadian Rocky Mountains below the Mount Wellington in Banff National Park. After flowing through the Clearwater Lakes and the Trident Lakes, the river leaves the mountains and maintains its flow direction to the east at. About 20 km south of Rocky Mountain House, the Clearwater River turns north and finally reached at Rocky Mountain House the North Saskatchewan River.
