Clelio Darida
Clelio Darida ( May 3, 1927 in Rome ) was an Italian lawyer and politician of the Christian Democracy (DC), who was among other things, Mayor of Rome, member of the Chamber of Deputies ( Camera dei deputati ) and several times minister.
Life
After schooling Darida studied law and was after graduation worked as a lawyer.
In 1969 he was elected as a candidate of the Christian Democracy for the Mayor of Rome, and thus to succeed his party colleague Rinaldo Santini. The Office of the Mayor, he practiced for seven years until its replacement in 1976 by Giulio Carlo Argan, who raced for the Italian Communist Party (PCI).
Subsequently, he was first elected even in the choice of 2 July 1976 for the DC as a member of the House of Representatives, where he represented the constituency of Roma until April 22, 1992.
Shortly thereafter Darida was on July 31, 1976 Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Interior and held this function in the third, fourth and fifth government of Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti and the first government of Francesco Cossiga until 14 January 1980.
As part of a government reshuffle him Prime Minister Cossiga then convened on 14 January 1980 Minister without Portfolio ( Ministro senza Portafiglio ) for Relations with Parliament. In the second government Cossiga he was after from 4 April to October 18, 1980 Minister of Post and Telecommunications ( Ministro delle Poste e Telecomunicazioni ), before he then Prime Minister Arnaldo Forlani as Minister without portfolio for public functions in which the 18 October. 1980 to June 28, 1981 an acting Cabinet was appointed. After that, he was on 28 June 1981 to August 4, 1983 Minister of Justice in the first and second government of Prime Minister Giovanni Spadolini, as well as the fifth cabinet of amine gates Fanfani. On August 4, 1983 Darida ( Ministro delle Partecipazione Statale ) was Prime Minister Bettino Craxi as Minister of State Holdings appointed to the first cabinet and served in this function in the second Craxi government, and in the sixth Cabinet Fanfani until 28 July 1987.
