Küntzig ( Luxembourgish Kënzeg locally Kéinzig, French Clemency ) is a village in the municipality Käerjeng in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Until the end of 2011 Küntzig was a community and belonged to the Canton chapels. On 1 January 2012, it was merged with Bascharage the greater community Käerjeng. On 1 January 2013 counted Küntzig 1830 inhabitants, spread over 693 households.

The community consisted of the villages Küntzig and Fingig. The neighboring communities were:

• In the west ( Belgium): Aubange

History

Küntzig already the Gauls had known since they found the tomb of a rich Gaul from the last century BC.

To Küntzig also built in the 1730 St. Maximin Chapel, located in the station road ( Rue de le Gare ) is located.

The frog hunting in the surrounding marshes was formerly very common, so the frog is also an important symbol of the city.

Mills in Küntzig

There used in Küntzig two mills, the " Pesch Millen " and the "shock Millen ". The " Pesch Millen " stand along " Falterbaach ", a small stream in Küntzig, to the point where meet the " Rue de la Gare " and the " Rue des Prés " today. From this mill today nothing remains.
