Clement Storer

Clement Storer ( born September 20, 1760 Kennebunk, York County, Massachusetts, † November 21, 1830 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire ) was an American politician ( Democratic- Republican), of the State of New Hampshire in both chambers of Congress represented.

Born in present-day Maine Clement Storer initially received a comprehensive education, before he began to study medicine in Portsmouth, as well as in Europe. After his return he began to practice as a doctor in Portsmouth. He was a member of the militia of New Hampshire and there rose from Captain to Major General on.

In 1806, Storer was elected to the House of Representatives of the United States, where he represented the interests of New Hampshire as a Democratic Republican of 4 March 1807 to 3 March 1809. Then he sat from 1810 to 1812 in the House of Representatives from New Hampshire; a year he practiced there from the office of Speaker. Following the resignation of U.S. Senator Jeremiah Mason on June 16, 1817 Storer was elected as his successor. He took his seat in Washington on June 27, 1817 until March 3, 1819 true and acted during this time including as Chairman of the Military Committee ( Committee on the Militia ).
