Clementine (Software)

Clementine is a free audio player for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. It is a spin-off of the audio player Amarok in version 1.4.10. Reason was the unsatisfactory according to the authors development of version 2 of Amarok. In this no longer stood by the port to the KDE platform 4 numerous functions.

Overview

Clementine has been ported to Qt 4 and is thus independent of KDE libraries installed, it is therefore not a KDE application more. Furthermore, the provision for the three major desktop operating systems with little effort. Functionality and user guide of the original Amarok 1.4.x have been widely adopted and refined.

Clementine has since its creation on a high number of downloads and was taken partly because of the high level of development activity and continuity in the build service of the major distributions, including packman. It is part of the default installation of Sabayon Linux distribution and the Turkish state authorities developed for distribution Pardus. For Gnome addition to the standard player Rhythmbox and Clementine is recommended.
