Cleombrotus II

Cleombrotus II (Greek Κλεόμβροτος ) was a king of Sparta from the house of Agiaden. His exact relationships are not known. Cleombrotus married Chilonis, the daughter of King Leonidas II and her begot Agesipolis and Cleomenes.

As Lysander 242 BC intrigued against Leonidas II, he pulled his son- Cleombrotus to his side, and when he had finally driven the King into the asylum, Cleombrotus took control. Chilonis stood to her father and became his advocate. After one year, the Spartans were dissatisfied with the government and called Leonidas back. Then fled Agis IV, the king of the house of Eurypontidae and Cleombrotus from Sparta. Cleombrotus found refuge in the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Tainaros. Chilonis could stop her father from killing Cleombrotus, and so this was sent into exile. Chilonis accompanied him with their two children.
