Clérigos Church

The Clérigos Church, the Church of the clergy (Portuguese: Igreja dos Clérigos ) is a Baroque church in the city of Porto, in Portugal, which was built in 1732-1750 by the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni for the Brotherhood Irmandade dos Pobres CLÉRIGOS.

, Reminiscent of Tuscan campanile bell tower of the church, the Clérigos, is the highest church tower in Portugal and a landmark of the city. Its construction began in 1754 and was in 1763, also led by Nicolau Nasoni ended. The tower is 76 meters high and has six floors with a total of 225 steps. It can be climbed for a small fee and offers in good weather a wide view of Porto.

2013 was the Banco do Portugal, a € 2 coin with a picture of the church out.
