Cleurie (river)

The Cleurie is a river in France, which runs in the Lorraine region in the department of Vosges. Your source is located in the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges, west of Gerardmer, only 1,800 meters from Lake Gerardmer. The Cleurie first flows to the west, reached at the northernmost point of La Bresse and swings to the southwest. After passing through the same community Cleurie the river turns south and ends after a total of 19 kilometers of the municipal border of Saint- Amé and Le Syndicat as a right tributary to the Moselotte.

Hydrology

At the level Cleurie - four kilometers upstream of the mouth - measures since 1967 a hydrological station throughput of the river, which is specified with an average of 2.4 cubic meters per second. Seasonal ranges of runoff between 2.8 to 3.5 cubic meters per second during the winter months and only 1 m³ per second in high summer. The highest value was measured to be 51.7 cubic meters per second at a flood on 25 January 1995. The average rainfall of lying on the windward side of the Vosges catchment area of Cleurie is 1114 mm, well above the average of all France.
