Cliff Williams

Cliff Williams ( born December 14, 1949 in Romford, United Kingdom ) is the bassist for the Australian hard rock band AC / DC.

At the age of nine years, Williams moved from Romford to London, early on, he wore long hair and fancy clothes and looked around in the music scene. He distanced himself from the work experience in the factory, which led his father, specifically from, just like Angus and Malcolm Young of AC / DC.

He started his career in 1967. He was a member of the British bands Home and Bandit. This was dissolved after some minor success, so Williams circa 1977 looking for a new band.

AC / DC in 1977 was looking for a successor to Mark Evans and found him in Williams. The former AC / DC manager Michael Browning, according to the band wanted a different bass player, but Browning's opinion, did not fit the band. Therefore Browning Williams gave some tips before it had to audition, how he should behave ( in particular, it should be as undemanding and easy to play ). Williams took this to heart and has since May 27, 1977 the band's bassist. He usually plays simple bass lines, which consist mainly of eighth or quarter notes.

Making his first appearance with AC / DC he had on July 7, 1977 in Cleveland in the United States.

He has recorded 14 albums with the group until today.

Cliff Williams plays mostly Music Man bass, but also the manufacturer Fender basses.

End of 2007, Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams recorded three songs ( Chain Gang, Chase did Tail and Who phoned the Law ) on the movie " Totally Baked", which appears only on DVD.
