Clifford Stine

Clifford Stine ( born March 24, 1906 in California, † 12 February 1986 in Pomona, California ) was an American cinematographer.

Life

Clifford Stine began his career in film as a second camera assistant at the DeMille Studios. In its function as a first camera assistant, he was involved in the filming of King Kong and the white woman. In his further career, he became an expert on special effects. He was also one of the few camera men who were able to apply the 3D movie process. The films, was responsible for the Stine as chief cameraman, are less significant than those for whom he made special effects and additional recordings. He received a special Academy Award for trick photography in the film The Hindenburg.
