Climie Fisher

Climie Fisher was an English pop duo consisting of Simon Climie ( born 1960 ) and Rob Fisher ( 1959-1999 ).

Career

Simon Climie began his musical career as a copywriter for Leo Sayer and Roger Daltrey. He worked on Frida's second solo album and was co-author of the song Invincible, with the Pat Benatar in 1985 reached number 8 in the U.S. charts in the summer. Other songs he wrote for example for Smokey Robinson and Jeff Beck. He also provided the song I Knew You Were Waiting ( For Me ), that in early 1987 for Aretha Franklin and George Michael was a big hit.

Rob Fisher played in various groups and ultimately in 1982 with Naked Eyes. However, since greater success failed to materialize, he then worked as a studio musician.

Here he met Climie, and quickly become a common wavelength of the two keyboard players turned out.

They became known by the hit single Love Changes ( Everything), which reached # 2 on the 1987 British sales charts in the fall. Here, the first song ever not arrived in England in the higher regions chart. Only when he placed himself in Germany at number 7 in the charts, the song became a hit in the United Kingdom. Another successful title was Rise To The Occasion, the place reached 10 in the UK charts. Together they released the albums Everything (1988) and Coming In For The Kill (1989).

Rob Fisher died in August 1999 after a long battle with colon cancer. Simon Climie now works as a songwriter, among other things Eternal, and Eric Clapton.

Trivia

  • On the album Trouble Over Bridgewater by Half Man Half Biscuit is a title called The Ballad of Climie Fisher.
