Clinton County (Indiana)

Clinton County is a county located in the state of Indiana in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Frankfort.

Geography

The County is located north-east of the geographic center of Indiana and has an area of 1050 square kilometers without significant water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Carroll County, Howard County, Tipton County, Hamilton County, Boone County, Montgomery County and Tippecanoe County.

History

Clinton County was formed on January 29, 1830 from parts of Tippecanoe County. It was named after DeWitt Clinton, an early American politician and Governor of the State of New York.
