Clive Coates

Clive Coates ( born 1941 ) is a wine critic and Master of Wine. In particular, his publications on the Burgundy wine country are reference works.

Biography

Born in 1941, Clive Coates worked in the 1960s and early 1970s for The Wine Society in Stevenage. In 1975 he founded the magazine The Vine, This monthly magazine was discontinued after 241 editions for health reasons. He also published a number of well known books on the classic French wine regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy.

He lives located in the French Saint -Bonnet -de -Vieille- Vigne, between the Côte Chalonnaise and the Maconnais.
