Clive Lloyd

Clive Hubert Lloyd CBE ( born August 31, 1944 in Georgetown, Guyana ) is a former cricketer who played for the West Indies Cricket team. He was captain of the team in three Cricket World Cups. In 1971 he was elected one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year.

Career

Clive Lloyd played during his career 110 Test matches in which he scored a total of 7515 runs. He was the first West Indian Cricket player who came into use in 100 Tests. In 74 tests he ran on as captain. To date, no other West Indian Cricket player comes on more sorties as captain. His first test played Lloyd in December 1966 against India in Mumbai. In his first test before a home crowd in Port of Spain against England in January 1968, he scored his first Test Century (100 or more runs ). His personal record for most runs scored in a Test innings (242 ) presented Lloyd in 1975 against India in Mumbai. The last use in a test he had in 1984 against Australia in Brisbane. Lloyd denied further 87 One- Day International matches ( ODI) for the West Indies, where he scored a total of 1977 runs. 81 time was Clive Lloyd in One- Day Internationals as master on. His first try at an ODI he had in September 1973 against England in Leeds. His last ODI played Lloyd on March 6, 1985 against Pakistan in Melbourne. Clive Lloyd won with the team of the West Indies Cricket World Cup in 1975 and 1979. Finale In 1975, he scored 102 runs with a personal record in ODIs. It was also the only time that he was able to achieve a Century in an ODI. In 1983, he lost to the West Indies the World Cup final against underdogs India.
