Closer Still (German: , Closer ' ) is the first single from the German synthpop duo Wolfsheim from their third studio album Dreaming Apes.

Emergence and Artwork

Was written the song of the two Wolfsheim members Peter Heppner and Markus Reinhardt, it was produced by Jose Alvarez- Brill, Peter Heppner and Markus Reinhardt. The single was released under the label Strange Ways Records. The recordings took place in the Belgian recording studio The Factory and the Hamburg recording studio audio thorium. The cover of the maxi-single is kept bluish. You can see the artist name, the title of the single and a floating in the clouds seating. The photograph on the cover picture is from Alexander Demtschuk.

Publication and Promotion

The first publication took place in Germany on 20 November 1995. In addition to the song Closer Still the maxi-single contains remixes and the songs Tapir (Instrumental) and Now I Fall ( Factory Remix), as a B- side.

Content

The lyrics to Closer Still is written entirely in English. Musically, the song moves in the field of synth pop. The lyrics are about a man who has a crush on another person, but does not trust himself to approach the person, but just tried the person to be as close as possible without contacting us. To date, the song was able to place in no charts, and accurate sales figures are not known. A limited edition of Maxi - Singles gave it as an additional supplement to the studio album Dreaming Apes.
