Club de Futbol Universidad de Costa Rica
CF Universidad de Costa Rica is a football club based in San Pedro, Montes de Oca, San José Province, Costa Rica, which Costa Rican in the highest league, the Primera División de Costa Rica plays.
History
1941 ordered the former Costa Rican President Rafael Ángel Calderón Guardia to create a club that should the Universidad de Costa Rica, UCR briefly represented. Calderón continued by the Football Association FEDEFUTBOL that the initial playing under the name Universidad Nacional club could immediately take part in the game operating the Primera División de Costa Rica, without being previously competed in the second division.
1943, the second year after the club was founded, it abolished the UCR as rank outsiders to win the championship, which is the only recipient of success.
In 1956, the UCR increased in the Liga de Ascenso Segunda División - 1973 managed to rise again in the top flight, where the club but only three years to 1976 and stayed again relegated to the second division.
Since 1994, the football club CF Universidad de Costa Rica is officially a department of the Asociacion Deportiva Universitaria. 2003 signed the Universidad de Costa Rica and the CF Universidad de Costa Rica signed a cooperation agreement, which is set, the club of the University officially represented. Desweiterin is specified in this contract, this is the first time users of UCR CF Estadio Ecological and the club may use the various facilities of the university.
After 31 years in the second division succeeded in 2007, the promotion back to the Primera División de Costa Rica, where the club remained until 2011 and fought mainly against relegation to the second division.
In the season 2010/ 11, the UCR finally finished with 23 points the last place in the overall table, an increase after 4 years back in the excellence in the Liga de Ascenso Segunda División - off.
This time, needed the " Universitarios " only two seasons to return to the Primera División. The UCR won the championship final of the 2nd League against AS Puma Generaleña
