Club Deportivo El Nacional

The Club Deportivo El Nacional (German Sports Club The National ) is a football club from Quito in Ecuador. El Nacional bears his name, because he belongs to the Ecuadorian military and because the players are exclusively Ecuadorian Staataangehörige. Therefore, the team carries the nickname Puros Criollos ( Criollos dt Real / Creoles ) and El Equipo Militar ( Military German team). The three club colors of red, light blue and dark blue represent the three branches of the armed forces of Ecuador. The team's logo contains light blue instead of yellow as the third color. The Association is not to be confused with Club Nacional from the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo.

Just like Deportivo Quito, the first team carries out their home games at the National Stadium Atahualpa. At national level, El Nacional, together with Barcelona SC Guayaquil from the team with the most league titles (namely 13). As the only team El Nacional won the championship three times in a row (1976-1978 and 1982-1984 ). Hence the Selbstbetitelung comes as Bi - Tri - Campeón. 1985 reached the team which at the time of three teams discharged into two groups semifinals of the Copa Libertadores. There, however, is different from a second group behind América de Cali of Colombia.
