Club Nacional

The club Nacional is a football club from Asunción, the capital of Paraguay. The club was founded in 1904 and is next to Club Olimpia, Club Guaraní, Club Libertad Club General Díaz to the clubs in 1906 the league Paraguaya de Football Association initiated, which developed into the modern national football association, the Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol. Nacional was six -time champions of Paraguay 1909-1946.

The establishment of the association took place in 1905 by former students of the Colegio Nacional de la Capital, one of the oldest private schools in the country, under the name Nacional Football Club. The colors of the flag of Paraguay were chosen as the Club colors. The colors white and blue of the jerseys are the colors of the school.

The club is named because of its traditional good youth work, La Academia. Even the star of the club's history Arsenio Erico, who is also regarded as the greatest football player in history of Paraguay, came from the offspring of Nacional. He played 1930-33 and 1947-49 at Nacional. In between, he played in Argentina during bonarenser suburb club CA Independiente where he became the leading scorer of the Argentine football history.

Nacional plays its home games at the Estadio Arsenio Erico named after him, principally as La Visera known in Barrio Obrero of Asunción. The stadium has a capacity of 4,000 spectators.
