Club Universidad de Chile
The Club de Fútbol Universidad de Chile is a Chilean football club from the capital Santiago de Chile. The club is considered one of the most famous and fourteen league titles and three cup success as one of the most successful football clubs in Chile. 2011 won La U as the first Chilean team in the Copa Sudamericana.
The club was founded on May 24, 1927, the name Club Deportivo Universitario as a union of Club Náutico and Federación Universitaria. The founders were students of the Universidad de Chile. 1980, the organizational separation from the university and the club has since completely independent. The professional team plays in the Estadio Nacional de Chile.
A special event for every football fan in Chile is the Clásico in which the CF Universidad de Chile meets the CSD Colo -Colo. It is not only on the grass, but mainly due to the high ranks forth. The supporters of the two camps provide to not only peaceful confrontations in the form of songs and spectacular pyro- actions, but also heavy fights and violent confrontations with the police.
