The Clumber Spaniel is a recognized by the FCI British breed (FCI Group 8, Section 2, Standard No. 109).

Origin and History

The origin of the Clumber Spaniel is not clarified, it should be a very old breed, said to have been held in the 18th century by the Duke of Newcastle at Clumber lock in a kennel and 1788 to see in a painting. In the 19th century the breed was very popular in England, but in 1930 it was rare. The Clumber Spaniel is an English flushing dog that is used both in the duck hunting as well as the pheasant and woodcock.

Description

The up to 34 kg heavy, solid dog is a good companion of the hunter.

The hair is abundant, dense, silky and smooth, solid white on the fuselage, with lemon-colored badge; orange markings are permitted. The ears are large, grape leaf -shaped, well covered with straight hair, slightly drooping forward.
