Clyde Drexler

Clyde Austin Drexler ( born June 22, 1962 in New Orleans, Louisiana ) is a retired American professional basketball player.

Career

The greatest success Drexler was winning the NBA championship, which he along with Hakeem Olajuwon was able to celebrate with the Houston Rockets in 1995. Previously, Drexler was twice failed in the finals (1990 and 1992 against the Detroit Pistons against the Chicago Bulls). He also won in the summer of 1992 as a member of the legendary Dream Team at the Barcelona Olympics gold medal and was selected in 1996 as one of the top 50 NBA players of all time. Drexler was only the 24th player to have the 20,000 -point mark in the NBA crack and is one of only three actors (along with John Havlicek and Oscar Robertson), which in their careers more than 20,000 points, 6,000 rebounds and 6,000 assists were able to achieve.

Because of its elegant way of playing Drexler the nickname "The Glide " was awarded.

The 10- time All -Star spent his first 11 professional years in Oregon with the Portland Trail Blazers before he was replaced in his 12th year as a pro, on 14 February 1995 to the Houston Rockets for Otis Thorpe. In Houston, Drexler in 1995 along with Hakeem Olajuwon won the NBA championship. Drexler finished his career in 1998.

Drexler in 2004 was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
