The Clymenien ( Clymeniida ) are an order of jungpaläozoischen Ammonites ( Ammonoidea ). You are important index fossils in the Devonian.

Features

The cases vary from thin - disk shape until thick. The navel is far to be closed. The Siphonalstrang is unlike any other Ammonoidea dorsal. The Praise formula LI with many modifications during the evolution of the group; e.g. Development of an E-, A- and U- lobe. The forms are generally weak ornamented with growth lines or with weak ribs.
