Coactivator (genetics)
As co-activator, in the genetics refers to a protein that binds non-specifically to DNA or protein -protein interactions stimulates transcription. Among the coactivators include Histonacetylierungskomplexe as SAGA or CBP and nucleosome - remodeling complexes such as Swi / Snf. Other coactivators are able to bend DNA, or to deform, as a possible initiation in chromatin.
