In the coat of arms of Asturias, a Spanish administrative unit floats in blue the golden jeweled cross of victory at the cross arm, the great Greek letters Alpha and Omega hang. To the blazon inside is a Latin inscription in golden capital letters: " HOC SIGNO TUETUR PIUS, HOC SIGNO VINCITUR Inimicus " (engl.: ". Through this character the Pious is protected, by this sign, the enemy is defeated ").

On the shield rests the golden crown.
