Coat of arms of Estonia

The coat of arms of Estonia was already in use from 1918 to 1940.

Then, however, was introduced until 1990 by the Soviet Union another coat of arms as a symbol of the Estonian SSR. Since then, the original coat of arms is again in use.

Description

On the golden shield are pale provided three blue, red and reinforced so gezungte leopard. The shield is encircled with golden oak leaves.

History

This was originally the coat of arms of the Estonian Knighthood and was also used by the Russian government of Estonia. It is also the emblem of the capital Tallinn.

It is derived from the Danish coat of arms, as the city is a Danish foundation.
